This project is
directed at the development of instructional videos for use by
students in our analytical chemistry laboratories. The idea is
to educate the students about the particular instrumental method
they will be using before entering the laboratory. This will
be accomplished by viewing a video that allows the student to see
videos/photographs of the internal components and controls of the
instrument. In addition, the student will take an on-line
(internet-based) quiz that will ensure proper instruction.
The videos are
currently being made with equipment provided by The
Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation through the Special Grant
Program in the Chemical Sciences. The grant was awarded in
January of 2001 and began on April 1, 2001.
